Shortlines Monitor Locomotives |
| Lat-Lon continues to make inroads into short line railroads by selling over 230 RailRider locomotive monitoring units. Customers are using the systems for many different purposes including safety, increased utilization, fuel management, temperature monitoring, dark territory visibility and overspeed monitoring. |
The RailRider has a comprehensive geo-fence capabilities. The unit can report when a locomotive leaves a yard, when it gets to a customer facility and every point in between. Over 1000 locations can be stored in the unit to trigger a message much like an AEI reader. These geofence locations are managed from your desktop and special reports can be generated to give you the information you need. |
The RailRider has many capabilities and customers are just now beginning to appreciate all the information that is available. The new dispatch system provides minute by minute location, speed, and direction information. An alerter display shows a recent history of events and alerts dispatch if any safety or operational problems exist |
