DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 27, 2002-- Lat-Lon, a provider of industrially hardened wireless monitoring and GPS tracking devices to the freight industry, announced today it received orders in excess of 2,500 for its X-8 monitoring units since the first of the year.
The increased production capacity needed to fulfill the new orders has prompted the company to add several new employees and expand to a larger manufacturing facility.
Several key factors are contributing to Lat-Lon’s success.
First, the low-cost patented X-8 monitoring unit is a rugged device that can provide both accurate GPS tracking and also monitor the condition of an asset.
Second, Lat-Lon’s subscription costs are much lower than many tracking systems that utilize expensive satellite communication services.
Lat-Lon employs Aeris.net’s MicroBurst™ network to communicate over the existing cellular infrastructure across North America, bringing its prices down to earth.
Finally, Lat-Lon’s team provides excellent service, which keeps their customers satisfied and coming back for more.
"It all comes down to providing quality products and services, and taking care of the people that give you business," said John Felty, National Sales Manager at Lat-Lon.
"Our growing sales have come mainly through repeat business from our existing customers.
That doesn't happen if the customer didn't get what he wanted the first time.
We'll keep providing rock-solid products, and taking care of our friends and partners in the industry.
We look forward to meeting their needs for new products and services in the future."
"There is currently a tremendous demand for economical wireless monitoring of equipment and vehicles across the transportation industry," said Steve Tautz, CFO for Lat-Lon.
"We have a hardened, industrial strength family of products that has been proven in the field over a period of years, and a very cost effective communication system.
The combination of these two facts means growing business for Lat-Lon, which has helped our company to achieve full profitability far earlier than our investors had projected."
Lat-Lon's new factory will accommodate anticipated sales growth through 2005.
It is located at 4251 South Natches Court, Unit C, Sheridan, CO 80110.
