RC Willey - Problem solved!

Lat-Lon customer RC Willey is a home furnishings company with more than 2400 employees who serves California, Nevada, Utah and Idaho.

They originally bought the Lat-Lon "STU" to reduce theft of trailers and the loss of the high-dollar electronics content they carry. "Some of our trailers took years to recover!" said Rod Mosher, Corporate Loss Prevention Director.

No trailers have been stolen since the Lat-Lon STU's were installed. RC Willey now relies on Lat-Lon solutions to keep track of its many trailers used to deliver home furnishings and electronics.

Soon after installation, their management team discovered many other benefits. The data is now being used to help with customer service: knowing where the trailer is for customer deliveries; knowing if drivers are on task; location information on transfers from distribution centers to store locations; and for Operations to know what trailers are at what locations.  Lat-Lon's extensive reporting capabilities provide simple to detailed reports about individual drivers to the entire fleet, and aids them in planning, management and informed decision making.

The solar power was an important feature because many of their trailers sit un-tethered for long periods of time. During a competitive selection process Lat-Lon quickly rose to the top, winning Rod Mosher approval: "The benefits have been huge".
