Lat-Lon’s locomotive monitoring unit (LMU2) is packed with new capabilities that our Short line and Class I customers have been asking for. New capabilities include 3 axis impact detection, 12 isolated digital inputs, 4 isolated analog inputs, and 2 control relays. All of this capability is now packaged in a weather-proof enclosure to increase installation flexibility.
Customers are using the LMU and its data for safety, security, productivity, dispatch, operations, and maintenance both in switching and road service. There are many standard reports available to make your job easier and with the new active “Tripwire” capability, you will save even more time and money.

The LMU is built rugged for prolonged use, and relied on daily by some of the most demanding customers you can imagine, in environments where even a moment of down time can cost money. We have been told that our unit is the easiest to install. Most capabilities are available with just 3 wires. Fuel, coolant temperature, etc. are all options you can add later.
