Lat-Lon's 3 axis impact detection sensor reports impacts real-time via wireless data communications. The system can be configured to send out an immediate text message to your cell phone. The backend database stores the messages for historical analysis and can be accessed by any Internet PC.
You get comprehensive data to show exactly what happened. There are two levels of sampling for each axis, the change in velocity, impact run time, seconds to GPS fix, and speed. This data can be used to identify where the impact happened and what type of impact it was.
Acceleration events are filtered at 100Hz and 10 Hz. For long accelerations the two will report similar values. For shocks and fast-acting events the numbers will differ.
There is a reason why almost every power generation company uses the Lat-Lon impact unit to ensure their valuable hardware is transported correctly.
